Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to questions you may have about business coaching, business coach training and corporate seminars.
BUSINESS COACH TRAINING
What is the Registered Corporate Coach Program (RCC)?
The RCC was designed specifically for individuals who seek to augment
their skills in the area of executive and corporate coaching
and who are prepared for a compressed study program.
What does the RCC designation mean?
The RCC designation is awarded by the Worldwide Association of
Business Coaches (WABC) and verifies that you have met professional
standards for coaching within a corporate setting. In an unregulated
field, the RCC sets you apart as meeting standards set by the
leading professional business coaching association.
What is the difference between a “registered” designation
and a “certification”?
A “registered” program is less time consuming than
a typical “certification” program. The RCC offer the
benefits of a professional program based on life experiences.
Who is the WABC?
WABC is the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches, the only
international professional association dedicated exclusively
to the business coaching industry. It's also the only association
of its kind with admission and renewal membership standards.
For over six years, WABC has been representing and serving all
external and internal coaches working with businesses, organizations
and governments. These coaches include business coaches, corporate
coaches, executive coaches, leadership coaches, organizational
development coaches and many other types of coaches.
Who is eligible to take the RCC?
Consultants, human resource professionals, therapists, coaches,
and managers all pursue the RCC. The RCC is appropriate for any
individual who has had significant business or professional experience.
Participants join the WABC as part of the RCC program. Those
who are eligible to join the WABC are eligible to participate
in the RCC. Minimum requirements are:
- Will use coaching skills in a business environment.
- Must have at least seven years of professional or business experience.
Why the RCC?
The RCC was designed to meet a specific need in the area of coaching
skills training. The RCC is a:
- Compressed Advanced Course - Many coaching certification programs take up to two years to complete and are too rudimentary for those who have had significant training and experience.
- Business and Corporate Focused – Many coach training programs are overly broad or focused exclusively on personal coaching. The RCC is designed to teach skills that are directly applicable to the business and corporate environment.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
There is a 50% refund for cancellation 30 days prior to
the program start date and no refund if you cancel less than 30
days prior to the program start date.
However, all proceeds can be applied to future classes within the
same calendar year and any money paid is transferable to other
individuals within the same corporation.
BUSINESS COACHING
What is business coaching?
Business coaching is a designed alliance between a motivated individual
and an experienced coach working together to create a partnership
that enables the client to move towards their desired future.
Business coaching is a personal, supportive and 100% confidential relationship.
How does a business coaching relationship work?
You and your business coach set up a schedule to meet
either in person or over the phone. Business coaching sessions
range from 30 minutes to two hours, every one to two weeks. The
coaching schedule is set to accommodate you and can fluctuate as
your business coaching needs change.
What is the basic philosophy of business coaching?
Everyone can get what's wanted a lot faster and easier
teaming up with a business coach partner.
Why would I work with a business coach?
One of the most common complaints that people bring to
business coaching is that they are ‘stuck’. People
who work with a business coach are willing to challenge themselves
and identify areas of opportunities that were previously unrealized
and unnoticed.
What kinds of results can I expect?
The goal of all business coaching is to gain clarity,
insight and forward progress. Business coaching allows the individual
to go beyond what is reasonable or expected. It requires recognizing
and eliminating the habits and assumptions that have kept you stuck.
How does business coaching differ from therapy, a best
friend, or self-management?
Business coaching is not therapy. Business
coaching is “you” focused,
and the focus is on your desired future. By the use of your business
coach’s
insight and use of powerful questioning you gain forward movement
by identifying your goals and designing specific strategies to
reach them.
A best friend is great to have and important. However, usually friends are not trained professionals whose purpose is to partner with you and work on your agenda only. Also, a friend wants to keep you as a friend and will not always tell you what you may need to hear. Your business coach will in a caring and respectful way!
Finally, blind spots can be an issue with self-management and a business coach can provide an outside, unbiased point of view. More importantly, having a business coach imparts a sense of accountability and sustains the momentum for moving forward from week to week.
What happens when you hire a business coach?
- You take yourself more seriously and gain forward momentum in your activities.
- You take more effective and focused actions - immediately.
- You stop putting up with energy drains and get results with less effort.
- You set goals that are truly impacting on where you most want to grow.
Does the business coach work on personal goals or business/professional
goals?
Business Coaches believe that personal and business matters
definitely influence each other. Hence, business coaches are trained
to work professionally with all client aspects.
Why does business coaching work so well?
Coaching is a synergistic and powerful relationship. The
power is in the relationship itself. It is partnership whereby
the collaboration of the two creates much better and faster results
than working individually. With business coaching the good
news is that you don't have to go at it alone!
Does business coaching really work?
In the 1998
International Coach Federation Survey,
- a landslide of 98.5% of coaching clients said their investment in a coach was well worth the money.
- 70% of clients said their investment in a coach was very valuable
- 28.5% said their investment was valuable
- 1.5% said their investment had not been valuable.
Is business coaching only for people who "have problems"?
Absolutely not! Business coaching is for people who want
to live life to the fullest, who want to ensure that they are fully
engaged in life, who want to be truly effective leaders and want
to get there more quickly with a committed ally. In business coaching,
we believe that nothing is broken. We believe passionately that everyone
who comes to business coaching is "whole, creative and responsible." It
is living up to your full potential. Consider business coaching to
be your very own, personalized leadership development.
I should be able to do this myself - why do I need to hire
someone?
A business coach accelerates your journey so that it is
quicker, easier and more rewarding than if you go it alone. Just
as individuals sometimes find it helpful to have a personal trainer
to help them get in shape, so a personal business coach can help
you get "in
shape in life."
Is it worth it?
Time and time again, studies have outlined the beneficial
cost of coaching to organizations. Should you be interested in learning
